Botanical Pendants: Clarity
The Story
A tailored, minimalistic pendant light for a luxury residential apartment in Bayswater, London. Positioned above a compact marble island, the pieces were designed to complement the understated material palette of the interior while bringing a subtle sculptural presence to the space.
Each pendant is formed around a slender single stem, creating a minimal silhouette that allows the handcrafted artisan glass to take centre stage. The clear blown-glass shades have an organic, gently curved form, with tiny bubbles captured within the material during the making process. These delicate imperfections give the glass its individual character, catching and reflecting both natural and artificial light throughout the day.
A discreet uplighter sits at the centre of each shade, directing light upwards and allowing a soft glow to spread through the textured glass. Specified at 2700K warm white to coordinate with the wider lighting scheme, the illumination accentuates the bubbles, ripples and subtle variations within the glass without overpowering the surrounding interior.
The finished pendants evoke a light and almost weightless feel within the room. Their transparent forms preserve views across the space, while the warm metalwork and softly illuminated glass sit naturally alongside the marble, timber and muted neutral tones selected by Nineteen Interiors. The result is a quiet balance of craftsmanship and simplicity: functional lighting that also introduces a delicate, handcrafted focal point above the kitchen island.
